Sarah Avilés is a writer and director from Los Angeles. She is one half of a writing team with Angel I. Salinas.

 

Additionally, Sarah was selected for the 2021 Latino Filmmaker's Hub at Sundance and has been a finalist in the 2021 Ojalá Ignition Lab, and a 2022 Foundation House Artist in Residence, where she began to develop a novel that she is still currently writing. She has trained with the Echo Park Film Center, The California State Summer School for the Arts, and Inner-City Filmmakers on partial or full scholarships based on her writing portfolio.

 

Her work often focuses on humorous BIPOC characters trying to get their shit together.
